Qatar: The Doha Donation Accord. April 2013
The Doha Donation Accord, which was established in September 2010 was the result of close collaboration between the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), HMC and the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group. The framework of the Accord was based on Qatari regulations, legislations, national norms and the principles of the Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism, which was adopted May 2, 2008.

A secure alert platform launched by the European Commission will improve the safety of patients undergoing transplantation and medical procedures involving human tissues and cells.
Australia: Five Percent Increase in Organ Donations. January 2013
There has been a five percent increase in the number of organ donations in Australia in 2012 and hopes to improve the levels by 2015.Organ and Tissue Authority chief executive Yael Cass is happy with the progress and expressed appreciation that many Australian states and territories have met or exceeded the target in 2012.
USA: Rules of organ donation under reconsideration. January 2013
Kidneys from deceased donors are carefully rationed under rules established by the nonprofit United Network for Organ Sharing, or UNOS. The system is set up so that kidneys go to people who have spent the longest time on waiting lists and who are a good match, with provisions made for distributing organs to patients within the same region, when possible.

Cuba Performs Over 5,000 Kidney Transplants In Four Decades. January 2013
In a 42-year period Cuban surgeons have undertaken 4,751 kidneys transplants with dead donors and 397 with living donors, all free of charge, said Alexander Marmol Sonora, leader of the International Master in Transplant Coordination program at the Public Health Ministry.
First Intestinal Transplant in India. January 2013
A 30-year old software engineer became the first Indian recipient of an intestinal transplant following the surgery at Gurgaon's Medanta Medicity.
New Italy-Spain-France organ network. October, 2012
The organ transplant agencies of Italy, France, and Spain signed a cooperation protocol called the South Transplant Alliance (STA). It will create a network between the three countries, in which 50% of European post mortem organ donations are made.
